Senior Public Policy Researcher

ResPublica is looking to recruit a talented and experienced Senior Researcher to collaborate on a range of public policy projects. This is a senior role, playing a key part in developing our core business. Your experience should encompass some or all of the following:

• A proven, track record in research and policy, with relevant published reports and articles.
• An in depth understanding of at least one of the following policy areas: devolution, governance, public service reform, local economic development, employment, and skills.
• The ability to read the relevant political landscape and anticipate where policy agendas are going.
• Extensive experience in developing research and proposals, demonstrating strong problem solving, critical analysis, project management and decision-making skills.

We are looking for someone with at least five years’ experience in a relevant field. You may be a practitioner or an academic or have a research background in public policy or consultancy. Expertise in local government and strategy development is desirable.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work with high profile partners, with one of the most influential public policy think tanks in the UK. We would be keen to employ someone with a flair for public policy innovation, an eye for detail, and experience in producing high quality research reports.

• Strong knowledge of UK public policy
• A proven track record in research and/or public policy with at least five years experience
• Strong academic credentials
• Ability to innovate and think creatively about new policy solutions
• Interest in innovative ideas and thinking beyond traditional institutional or party political divides
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Strong track record in designing and delivering projects to time and budget.

The successful applicant will be instrumental in managing research outputs and content for ResPublica’s clients, and for working collaboratively with other colleagues, contractors, and other partners. Candidates must also demonstrate experience in efficient project management. You will be a key part of the ResPublica team.

Terms

This is a full-time permanent position. However, we are open to a fixed term contract or consultancy appointment, full time, or part time.

The position will be based in London.
