Closing date: Monday, 31 December 2018
ResPublica is seeking research associates to collaborate on a range of new projects as part of the organisation’s wider place-based, public service reform programme for 2018.
Our activity will explore devolution, integration and reform of the UK’s public services, and the consequences of such for local economic growth and social revival. If you are excited by this agenda but disappointed by progress to date; keen to explore the opportunity for radical place-based thinking; and concerned that our public services are not locally owned or outcomes driven; we would like to meet you.
We are looking for senior public policy professionals, researchers and academics, to help manage this dynamic programme. We are looking for someone who is very good at public policy and analysis, writing and ideas. Ideally you will have expertise in local government and strategy development. You will know the field but not necessarily be in it, and you must be passionate about what is needed and innovative in thinking about how to get there.
Experience in at least one of the following policy areas would be advantageous: economic development, industrial strategy, housing, health, children’s services, transport, education, skills, local governance.
We are open to a fixed term contract (6 months) or consultancy appointment, full time or part time. There are also opportunities to transition to permanent senior roles with ResPublica should that appeal to the right candidates. The position can be based in London or elsewhere.
We can offer a competitive salary or fees, respectful of your experience and expertise.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work with high profile partners, with one of the most influential public policy think tanks in the UK. We would be keen to employ or commission someone with a flair for innovation, an eye for detail and experience in both public policy research and project management.
