About the role

Building on a strong track record of delivering high quality work and consistently impacting upon the policy debate, ResPublica is looking for a talented Policy and Projects Manager to support the think tank’s activity on various areas of social policy and reform. A research and/or policy background in one or more of the following policy areas is desirable: economy and industry, health, housing, education, skills/employment, inequality.

The Policy and Projects Officer will play an essential role within our small team, developing innovative policy ideas, working closely with Government and politicians of all parties, and supporting the delivery of events and publications. This is an exciting role, with opportunities for career growth and development within our small but high profile organisation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Producing eye-catching and innovative proposals for potential partners that are in line ResPublica’s mission and vision
  • Seeking opportunities to meet potential partners and influential individuals, and promote ResPublica’s proposals to them
  • Developing and delivering reports and events, providing research and editorial support where necessary
  • Publicising and promoting research findings and publications through written reports, articles, blogs and social media
  • Developing and maintaining relationships across the policy spectrum and with relevant industry experts
  • Representing ResPublica at events, such as seminars, conferences and other public events, and on social media

Experience/Skills needed

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Working knowledge of the public policy sector, ideally with a policy and/or research background
  • A willingness and ability to work across policy areas, develop innovative, game-changing ideas, and high quality research reports
  • Experience of project management, and an ability to work within tight deadlines
  • Experience of communicating with a range of senior individuals in a professional manner
  • Experience of producing high quality policy briefings in a short space of time
  • An ability think on their feet and gain knowledge of new topics quickly
