Budget 2010 @ The Disraeli Room

The ideas behind the announcements

On Wednesday March 24th, The Disraeli Room will run a series of comment pieces on the issues that arise from what promises to be one of the most important - not to mention newsworthy - budgets in recent times.

The Chancellor's final statement of action before the upcoming general and local elections will show, among other things, whether our broken economy really has recovered; the extent to which the Government's economic and social plans are radical enough to create the momentum for recovery and renewed growth; and just how bold both government and opposition are when it comes to the big three priorities of our time: relocalising the economy, remoralising the market and recapitalising the poorest members of our society.

The Disraeli Room is interested in the ideas that underpin the headline plans and what these ideas might mean for our future. With so much at stake, it promises to be a very interesting day indeed.
