About the Disraeli Room

The Disraeli Room is dedicated to radical, progressive ideas and analysis. ResPublica’s experts, fellows and friends of all political stripes from the worlds of policy making, social innovation and entrepreneurship meet here to swap ideas, debate and provoke.

We named it after the great reforming British Prime Minister of the nineteenth century, Benjamin Disraeli, who advocated a radical approach to solving the nation’s problems; an approach that emphasised the importance of cultural excellence and national interest while at the same time enfranchising and helping those who were marginalised and in poverty.

This combination of reform, innovation, tradition and passion finds its apotheosis in Disraeli, in several thinkers of both the left and of the right – Wilberforce, Bevan and Beveridge to name but three – all the way through to the present generation of innovators, policy-makers and social entrepreneurs. The best contemporary thinkers and reformers will be featured on The Disraeli Room in the coming months.

The Disraeli Room is also a real place, and one that is very relevant to the short history of our think tank, as it was the setting for our first Members' Dinner, an ideas event we hold once or twice a month in the heart of Westminster.
